The 2025/2026 season of Lugano mouth is drawing to a close with a week that intertwines different artistic languages, from theatrical reflection to experimental music, passing through urban culture and swing dance. From May 25 to 29, 2026, the FOCE spaces will host a series of events marking the conclusion of the program promoted by the Events and Congress Division of the City of Lugano.
The program will involve both the FOCE Theater and the FOCE Studio, confirming the multidisciplinary identity of the Lugano-based institution, which will also offer events aimed at different audiences during the final days of the season.
Theatre and social reflection
The theater will open the week. On Monday, May 25th at 20:30 PM, the FOCE Theater will host Blessed menstruation!, a choral production born from an experiential workshop developed together with the Collettivo lediecilune.
The show will feature six actresses who will explore themes related to the body, memory, and the cultural taboos that still surround the menstrual cycle. The drama symbolically traverses the different phases of menstruation as internal seasons, transforming a universal biological experience into an opportunity for collective reflection.
The stated aim is to foster greater awareness and understanding of the body, addressing a subject often relegated to social silence. In this scenic journey, menstruation becomes a metaphor for identity, emancipation, and shared strength.

Swing Night closes the dance season
On Tuesday, May 26th at 20 pm, Studio FOCE will host the final event of the season with Swing Night, an evening dedicated to swing, boogie, and lindy hop enthusiasts.
The initiative aims to recreate the atmosphere of 1950s American music culture, alternating moments of social dance with vintage sounds. The event is open to both regular dancers and those who simply want to immerse themselves in a convivial atmosphere characterized by live music and retro rhythms.

Hang Massive's handpans arrive in Lugano
The musical programme will continue on Thursday 28 May at 7.30pm with the concert of Hang Massive, protagonists of one of the most anticipated proposals of the week.
The event, organized by Universal Sounds Ticino, will bring to the stage a sound research built around the handpan, metal instruments with a deep and meditative timbre.
The duo is known for performances that blend tribal rhythms, atmospheric melodies, and improvisation, creating immersive concerts. Over the years, Hang Massive has contributed to the international diffusion of the handpan, transforming it into an instrument recognizable even outside of specialized musical niches.

Odyssey Nello Struggle between rap and independent productions
The musical closing of the week will be entrusted on Friday 29 May at 8.30 pm to the hip hop collective Odyssey in the Struggle with the RANDOM project and the “Odissey Vol.5” evening.
Founded in Ticino in 2023, the group brings together rappers, DJs, and producers from Italian-speaking Switzerland and Italy. In just a few years, the collective has consolidated its presence in the independent urban scene through concerts, record productions, and artistic collaborations.
Among the experiences already gained there are shared performances with Egreen and the release of several EPs that helped broaden the project's visibility.

Two shows cancelled
The week's calendar was initially scheduled to include two theater events that will not take place. The organizers have announced the cancellation of Four red lines and one blue one of the Tommaso Giacopini Company, scheduled for Wednesday 27 May, and of Ancsàieti by Susanna Baseotto, scheduled for Thursday, May 28.
According to the City of Lugano, the cancellations are due to reasons beyond the control of the organization.
A season built on collaborations and institutional support
The cultural season of the FOCE is curated by the Events and Congresses Division of the Lugano in collaboration with Swisslos – Republic and Canton of Ticino DECS, AIL and the media partner Tio.ch.
