This indicator reinforces the LAC's role as a benchmark beyond the regional level.

The integration of LuganoMusica

The 2024/25 season also marks a significant structural transition: the integration of LuganoMusica's musical offerings into the LAC. This move, supported by the City of Lugano, has led to a fully coordinated programming and an internal management reorganization. This move has expanded the musical offerings, reversing a previous trend of declining attendance, while simultaneously reducing management and promotion costs thanks to the concentration of expertise.

On the financial front, LAC recorded revenues of CHF 9,632,690 during the season, exceeding expectations by 5% and improving on the previous year's result by 10%. The main sources of revenue remain ticket sales, sponsorships, and fundraising, as well as events and conferences. The integration of LuganoMusica contributed an estimated net increase of approximately CHF 640,000.

The financial year ended with a break-even result, a strategic objective for the organization, achieved through disciplined cost management and ongoing efforts to develop its own revenues. This balance is particularly important given the prospect of a reduction in public funding starting in the 2026/27 season.

LAC's Season Review: A Model Worth Upholding

The 2024/25 season results paint a picture of a cultural institution that has successfully combined audience growth, economic sustainability, and local focus, with 70% of its current expenditures benefiting the local economy. The challenge now remains to maintain this balance amidst limited public resources, without compromising the quality and accessibility of its cultural offerings.
