With a decision made official in recent days, the Municipality of Lugano has chosen Nicole Stoff as the new director of the Public Building Division of the City of LuganoThe architect, currently employed as project manager within the same division, will take up the role starting from February 1, 2026, taking over from the architect Gino Boila, who is approaching retirement after a long career in public service.
Born in 1978, with dual Swiss and German citizenshipNicole Stoff lives in Pregassona with her family. Graduated in Architecture at the Technical University of Aachen in 2003, he has developed a solid professional path over the years that combines technical skills, strategic vision and knowledge of the territory.
After some initial experiences in the private sector, where she worked as an architect and technical manager in a general contractor, Stoff gradually oriented her career towards management of large-scale public projectsSince 2018 he has been part of the Lugano Public Building Division, where he has held roles of increasing responsibility, until becoming, in 2020, Head of the Sports and Events Center (PSE).
In this role, he closely followed one of the most significant projects for the city, coordinating the various development phases of the complex and managing relationships with private partners, institutional stakeholders, and the actors involved in the implementation of the PSE. His appointment therefore represents a management and project continuity for a strategic sector like public construction, committed to ensuring quality, efficiency, and sustainability in municipal works.
The Municipality took the opportunity to express its heartfelt thanks to Gino Boila, recognizing the commitment and expertise with which he has led the division in recent years. Under his leadership, significant infrastructure projects and urban renewal projects have been carried out, helping to redefine Lugano's face.
