"The action of the SUPSI Department of Innovative Technologies in the interdisciplinary field of engineering applied to the biomedical sector has led in recent years to the birth of multiple skills and research projects in which we have increasingly witnessed an evolution of the possible uses of technologies ”, explain from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Italian-speaking Switzerland. "The new Institute of digital technologies for personalized health care (MeDiTech) will be a specialized unit, ready to carry out training and research activities focused on the use of digital technologies to support new and personalized methods of diagnosis and treatment in the medical field- sanitary ".

On the practical and immediate side, these activities find application in the development of digital healthcare platforms and in the design of diagnostic systems, in management information systems and in the resolution of complex decision-making sequences with applications ranging from diagnostics to personalized treatment methods up dispensing of drugs.

The institute will be organized around three interdependent research areas, each led by a person in charge:

The institute will become a regional and federal recognized center in the design and development of digital solutions and medical, diagnostic and therapeutic devices, based on innovative technologies, through a national and international network and in close collaboration with public and private entities. . By leveraging the many relationships and projects already active, the institute will be able to strengthen the existing collaborative relationships, starting from the synergies with the biomedicine faculty of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and its affiliated institutes, as well as with the 'Cantonal Hospital (EOC) and the clinics present in Ticino, as well as companies active in the sector of interest.
