Simonetta Rota: passion distinguishes leaders

“One thinks they are supermen or wonder women. People with superpowers, with life already written in a script made up of successes, exceptional episodes, skills that most do not even imagine. Gods predestined. But no, they are "simply" "leaders": people who explore the path on which others then go to walk.

One is led to think of them as different from the rest of the world (and perhaps in part, a little bit they are…).

Basically, however, they are people like any other: two hands, two eyes, a nose, a mouth, emotions. In addition, they have the ability to extract from their interior an extraordinary energy that the mass does not even know or think it has. They have the fuel to set important processes in motion, ambitious projects, stuff that falls in your jaw when you see it, know it and realize it. Not money, not hunger for power or success command them. There is a feeling, a particular transport, something that stands higher and regulates their behaviors, decisions and the way in which true leaders act: the a common. It is something that intoxicates you, that puts adrenaline in circulation, that makes you find yourself a happy victim of what you are doing ».

Thus reads the new issue of PLUS, our Magazine dedicated to the world of events, in this edition dedicated to the Leaders. Because in the darkest moments we need far-sighted guides. We need light. We need leaders.

And when a woman takes the field with this passion, some distinctive features are added! The ability to listen, empathy, emotional and social intelligence, the sixth sense, the innate ability to understand the weak signals of the context, welcome them and bring them to the fore. There care. The love, which is energy, sensitivity, enthusiasm, vision, availability, openness. Traditionally (and also stereotypically) more feminine characteristics, which today have become an implicit know-how of gender identity, which can also be explained in organizational roles.

What awaits us, in my opinion, is a world that progressively includes the roles we are used to knowing, replacing prejudice with necessity, gender with meritocracy, only supermen with the right presence and integration of female top management, which together with leaders they can create a perfect one mix & match of added value.

And I believe so strongly in the power of women leaders that for some years now I have been "preparing" for this gradual and by now necessary integration of the poles through the tool that in my opinion is the most effective: comparison with other women.

I am proud to be a member of the Steering Committee of the REW Association with the role of Head of Communication and Events. REW is a female community that recognizes in our affiliates not only a professional affirmation and a path of responsibility, entrepreneurial and managerial skills in various fields, but also a decision-making autonomy and a strong and cohesive altruistic predisposition. An association of women, ready to get involved in the first person in an open path of growth and oriented towards networking and sharing professional and life experiences.

The association aims to promote, strengthen and support women professionally active in various fields, favor the creation of a solid network of contacts in the professional field by promoting the exchange of relationships and the development of synergies. It stands out for its commitment to its associates in a proposal of training meetings provided by authoritative trainers and for the convinced support of initiatives for charitable purposes.

To facilitate networking and collaborations, we have a full calendar of online meetings, but we look forward to being able to meet again in live events.

Memorable is our “Women Gala Party” which takes place on December 3rd every year. An event that we organize with the heart and care that distinguishes my agency, where every detail is studied ad hoc. In fact, in the last edition we made all the candles by hand, covering them with glitter in the color palette of the REW logo, to embellish and give feminine identity to the mise en place and created one by one the cadeau for the kind guests.

This gala is an evening dedicated to women, which celebrates elegance, lightness, generosity and fun, where the only male guests allowed were the Mayor of Lugano and the artist Fabrizio Vendramin, of whom the Simonetta Rota agency - more than events has the exclusive for Switzerland.

Vendramin is a true "man performer", his portraits in pop art style are an exciting experience to live and to see born under your eyes, just as he did during the REW Gala Party, painting the iconic Marylin Monroe, as an unexpected gift for the ladies in the room.

And in this very “particular” year, we are already working on a second live event to be held in the summer. A party that wants to honor Life and the joy of being together… strictly only for women!
