Last year 2 young apprentices started a dual internship in the company, 523 more than in 130 (+ 2020%), respectively 5 more than in 74 (+ 2019%), the highest number recorded in the last 3 years.  
The first results of the 2022 placement campaign confirm the positive trend. In the start-up phase of the 2022 campaign, at the beginning of June, 566 new apprenticeship contracts were signed in the company, 98 more than in the same period of 2021 (+ 21%), respectively 207 more (+ 58%) compared to 2020 , even higher than the 2019 figure prior to the Covid-19 pandemic (+197, + 53%).

“The start is certainly encouraging” the Department of Education, Culture and Sport (DECS) reported, with a clear propensity to anticipate the signing of contracts.
The advancement of the placement campaign is one of the measures of the Più duale plan to allow young people to make a well-considered choice suited to their aspirations and skills, while reducing the use of fallback solutions that involve an increased risk of any subsequent reorientations.

Still a long way to go

Although these initial data are certainly positive, the road is still long, considering that over 2'700 subscriptions are still missing at the goal of the 2 new contracts. The challenge of being able to place all young men and women who intend to start an apprenticeship at the end of middle school or after a reorientation of choice during post-compulsory training and, respectively, to fill all the apprenticeship places offered by companies, is still open. .  

Positions still open

The still vacant apprenticeship positions published on www.orientation.ch, respectively, in the new BIZ App for mobile devices, there are 889 spread over about 120 different professions. The ten professions with the highest number of positions still available are electrician installer (81), commercial employee (76), retail employee (65), assembly electrician (47), installer / health care worker (30), bricklayer / bull (30), social health worker (26), pharmacy assistant (21), health care worker (20) and retail assistant (18) .
The available places are updated daily and with the BIZ App you can receive notification of new places published in your favorite profession directly on your mobile phone.  

For all young men and women still looking for an apprenticeship and companies, the DFP, in collaboration with the City of Professions of Italian Switzerland and the Office of Education and Vocational Guidance (UOSP), continues and strengthens the 'consultancy and promotion activities.  

For companies

The toll-free number 0800 606 607 is active for all companies wishing to take the opportunity to become a training company (Monday to Thursday from 12:00 to 18:00, Friday from 10:00 to 16:00, Saturday from 09: 00 to 12:00), managed by the consultants of the area Living the apprenticeship of the City of trades of Italian-speaking Switzerland. The latter is also an important reference for young people and adults who wish to find out about the possibilities of basic, higher and continuing professional training or professional retraining, with the possibility of taking advantage of individual information consultations and a multimedia documentation center. Young men and women who are about to finish middle school can request a consultation from the local counselor / trice.
