At the beginning of May, there was a change at the top of BancaStato. Michele Andina took over the Retail and Corporate Area, succeeding Gabriele Zanzi, who reached retirement age after seven years of service. The appointment of Andina, a figure with a deep knowledge of the local socioeconomic fabric and proven expertise in the financial sector, was welcomed by the Board of Directors of the cantonal institution.
Born in 1975 and resident in Bellinzona, the new member of the General Management is not a new face for BancaStato (for more information: [insert original link here]). His banking career began right in the ranks of the institute in 2003, immediately after graduating in Economic and Social Sciences from the University of Fribourg. Initially active in consulting corporate clients in the Bellinzona office, Andina subsequently took over the leadership of a team in 2007.
After a stint of several years at Credit Suisse, where he held various management roles in Ticino, Michele Andina is now returning to BancaStato to lead a strategic area for the institution. The Board of Directors expressed its belief that Andina's professional and management skills, combined with his in-depth understanding of the Ticino economic environment, represent a fundamental added value to address future challenges and give further impetus to BancaStato's operations.
La General Management of BancaStato The team is now composed, in addition to the new head of the Retail and Corporate Area Michele Andina, of the President Fabrizio Cieslakiewicz, the Head of the Finance Area Glenda Brändli, the Head of the Products and Services Area Curzio De Gottardi, the Head of the Private Banking and External Asset Managers Area Nicola Guscetti and the Head of the Risk Area Patrick Lafranchi.
The Board of Directors expressed its heartfelt thanks to Gabriele Zanzi for the significant contribution he made during his mandate at the helm of the Retail and Corporate Area, a sector considered the traditional and essential core of BancaStato's activity. The Board of Directors wished him all the best for his future.
