The study that led to this definition of BG Suisse Private Bank is “Wealth Management in Switzerland and Liechtenstein 2025”, edited by Christoph Kunzle (Fin21) with the collaboration of Claude Baumann (Finews). The study analyzed public data from 69 institutions operating in both countries. Evaluating growth, capital strength, efficiency, and profitability, the research provides an updated map of Swiss private banking, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses.
Many banks have seen an increase in assets under management, but new inflows are more limited, a sign of a competitive environment and increasingly discerning customers.
BG Suisse Private Bank, young but already at the top in terms of solidity
In the category of institutions with assets under management of less than CHF 20 billionBG Suisse Private Bank achieved the highest score: 300 out of 300 in the financial strength section. This is a significant result for a company founded only two years ago in Lugano by the Lion Bank.
The data confirms the institution's position as a safe haven for private clients and underscores a management model oriented towards prudence.
An institute that grows thanks to expert professionals
Alongside its solidity, the institution demonstrates dynamism. The acquisition of external asset manager Aequitum brought three highly experienced professionals to the team, with a total portfolio of €793 million. This transaction strengthens the institution's presence in the region and consolidates its expansion strategy in the Swiss market.
The major international players and the ranking of the largest banks
Looking at the largest-cap institutions, the study identifies Goldman Sachs as the best-performing bank. It is followed by Dreyfus, and Deutsche Bank and CA Indosuez are tied for third place.
Despite recording an increase in assets under management, these large operators are noticing a slowdown in new inflows, a fact that confirms the market's uncertainty.
An evolving sector between stability and new challenges
The fourth edition of the study reaffirms the central role of wealth management in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, regions where only a few firms demonstrate sufficient solidity to stand out in the competitive landscape. Among these, BG Suisse Private Bank is a special case: young, well-established, and already recognized for its capital structure.
An element that could guide the future choices of a clientele increasingly attentive to safety and competence.
