The BancaStato Group has published its new 2025 Sustainability Report, a document that collects data, results, and perspectives related to the Ticino banking institution's commitment to environmental, social, and governance issues.

The report, available on the sustainability page on BancaStato's official website BancaStato – Sustainability, was developed following the international standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and taking into account the main methodological references applicable to the financial sector.

The aim of the document is to provide a transparent overview of the initiatives undertaken, the progress made, and the commitments that will guide the Group's sustainability strategy in the coming years.

A path integrated into the banking strategy

The 2025 Sustainability Report highlights how environmental and social issues have progressively entered the institution's decision-making processes and daily activities.

Among the key elements is the strengthening of sustainability integration into the bank's core operational areas, through the evolution of products and services offered to customers, attention to internal processes, and the development of initiatives aimed at the local community.

The document also devotes space to sustainability governance, clarifying the roles and responsibilities of the Group's bodies and describing the progress of the established strategic objectives.

Climate and emissions reduction among future priorities

One of the most significant aspects of the report concerns climate change. BancaStato presents its Climate Strategy and its first Climate Transition Plan, developed based on the international framework of the Transition Plan Taskforce.

The document also introduces some quantitative targets related to the reduction of operational greenhouse gas emissions, along with an update on the methods for measuring emissions and the actions envisaged to limit their impact.

The climate report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Article 964a of the Swiss Code of Obligations and the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, as required by the Ordinance on Climate Reporting.

The relationship between the bank and the Ticino region

The report also addresses BancaStato's role as a partner in the Ticino community. The document describes the social, cultural, and sponsorship initiatives promoted by the institution, with the stated goal of contributing to the creation of shared value.

Attention to the local community is a key aspect of the institution's strategy, which ties banking activity to the economic and social dimension of the Canton.

In addition to community-focused activities, the report also analyzes personnel policies, with particular attention to skills development, human capital development, and working conditions.

Transparency and accountability as guiding principles

The publication of the 2025 Sustainability Report is part of an increasingly structured reporting process by financial institutions, which are required to measure and communicate their impact on environmental and social issues.

"For us, sustainability is an increasingly integral part of our banking practices," said Fabrizio Cieslakiewicz, Chairman of BancaStato's Executive Board, emphasizing how the report confirms the institution's commitment to customers, employees, property, and the community.

Michela Ferrari-Testa, Chairwoman of BancaStato's Board of Directors, also emphasized the importance of addressing environmental and social challenges with a practical approach that aims to generate long-term benefits.

A monitoring tool for years to come

The 2025 Sustainability Report therefore goes beyond simply capturing the activities carried out, but also defines a series of benchmarks for the future. Through indicators, objectives, and action plans, the document serves as a monitoring tool for the BancaStato Group's ongoing journey.

The publication confirms the role of sustainability as one of the institute's strategic pillars and as an element destined to increasingly impact operational decisions and relationships with the Ticino region.
