Patrick Heimann, before working in cryptocurrencies, you held important positions, especially in the East. What were the main milestones in your professional career?
«After completing my studies in Zurich and St. Gallen (Bachelor's in Finance and Master's in Business Innovation), I began my career in Shanghai, China.
Fascinated by the dynamism of Asia, where modernity, progress, and tradition coexist in an extraordinary way, I decided to move to Hong Kong, where I worked for the Fidinam Group from 2016 to 2022. From there, I had the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Group's activities in Asia, personally participating in the opening of a new office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
At the same time, I served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, helping to organize business, training, and corporate events aimed at strengthening the professional network and spirit of cohesion of the Swiss community.
When was Bitcoin Suisse AG founded? What services does it offer, and what role do you have within the company?
«Founded in 2013 in Zug, in the heart of the Crypto Valley, the mission of Bitcoin Suisse AG is to make access to digital assets simple and secure. We offer a regulated platform for buying and selling cryptocurrencies, custody services, staking, crypto-backed lending, and other innovative tools customized for institutional and private clients.
Within the company, I hold the role of Head of International Project Management, which means I'm responsible for national and international expansion projects. I work closely with top management to strengthen and develop the Group's presence in new geographical areas.
What is Switzerland's "Crypto Valley" and how is it changing the blockchain ecosystem nationwide?
«The Crypto Valley was born in Zug in 2013, when the city decided to add a new ecosystem dedicated to the innovation of the traditional commodity trading hub to the blockchainIn this context, Bitcoin Suisse AG is among the pioneers who have contributed significantly to the birth and development of this Hub.
Crypto Valley's innovative vocation has over time expanded southward, reaching Ticino. Thanks to the city administration's far-sighted commitment, Lugano is emerging as an ecosystem conducive to the adoption and experimentation of decentralized technologies.
The annual industry conference “Plan B Forum” is a shining example of how Lugano attracts thousands of professionals, investors, and innovators from all over the world.”
Bitcoin Suisse AG recently opened an office in Lugano. What are the prospects and ambitions of this Ticino office?
The opening of a representative office in Lugano is a clear and concrete sign of confidence in the extraordinary potential of the Ticino region. Bitcoin Suisse AG intends to strengthen its commitment to the growing customer base in the canton.
The new office, located at the Dagorà Lifestyle Innovation Hub, will serve as a point of reference for private clients, institutions, and crypto-native operators, allowing our team to maintain direct and continuous contact with local players and actively support the growth of the ecosystem.
What are Bitcoin Suisse AG's main plans for the Group's international expansion?
International expansion is one of the pillars of our growth strategy, which sees Europe and the Middle East as its main areas of strategic interest.
In May 2025, BTCS (Middle East) Ltd received In-Principle Approval from Abu Dhabi regulators, paving the way for a license to expand our range of services within one of the world’s most dynamic financial hubs.
In Europe, we intend to focus on key strategic markets with strong demand for regulated crypto services, leveraging our experience.
Bitcoin Suisse AG's focus remains on obtaining regulatory licenses, process scaling, product innovation, and developing strategic partnerships, which are essential to ensuring sustainable and responsible growth in every jurisdiction.
Looking further ahead, what are your thoughts on the prospects for cryptocurrency development in the coming years?
Bitcoin and other digital assets continue to integrate into the traditional banking system, contributing to the legitimacy of the sector and facilitating investment by retail customers as well.
While Switzerland currently has one of the most advanced and clear regulatory frameworks for cryptocurrencies in the world, a pro-cryptocurrency administration in the US is accelerating adoption while promoting a clearer regulatory framework.
In Europe, regulators are aiming to create a harmonized regulatory framework through the MiCAR – Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation, aimed at ensuring transparency, investor protection, and market stability, while encouraging faster adoption of blockchain technology.
