The Plan ₿ Forum returns to Lugano for its fourth edition, scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2025, at the Palazzo dei Congressi . The city, which has been integrating cryptocurrencies into daily life for several years, thus confirms its position at the center of the European debate on Bitcoin, blockchain, and digital innovation.
The conference, organized by the City of Lugano in collaboration with Tether , promises to be the most ambitious ever: over one hundred internationally renowned speakers, dozens of workshops and a series of initiatives that will transform the entire week leading up to the event into a true festival of innovation.
The Plan ₿ Forum and its international program
Following the success of 2024—which saw the participation of nearly 3.000 people from over 60 countries—Plan ₿ Forum 2025 aims to consolidate its role as Europe's leading Bitcoin conference.
Confirmed guests include Paolo Ardoino (Tether CEO), Julian Assange's family, Chris Pavlovski (Rumble founder), Adam Back (Blockstream), Elizabeth Stark (Lightning Labs), Jack Mallers (Twenty One Capital and Strike), and economist Saifedean Ammous, author of "The Bitcoin Standard." Political and academic figures will also be in attendance, including El Salvador's Ambassador to the United States, Milena Mayorga, and strategic advisor Bo Hines, who recently joined Tether after a stint at the White House.
Discussions will cover everything from the global adoption of Bitcoin to technological decentralization, and the relationship between blockchain, privacy, and economic freedom.
Plan ₿ Week and workshop for citizens
The 2025 edition will not be limited to the main conference. From October 20th to 23rd, the city will host Plan ₿ Week , a series of collateral events organized by Plan ₿ Network and several international partners.
At the same time, the "21" space will be set up at the Agilo Ciani, hosting over 50 free workshops in Italian, open to the public. The goal is to introduce even non-experts to the world of Bitcoin and P2P technologies, with educational activities suited to different levels of expertise.
A laboratory city for blockchain
Since the initiative's launch in 2022, Lugano has taken concrete steps towards cryptocurrency adoption: over 360 businesses now accept payments in BTC, USD₮, and LVGA, and in recent years the city has seen a growing network of Bitcoin-related spaces, startups, and educational programs.
“Lugano must be the place where ideas, technology, and community meet,” said Mayor Michele Foletti, emphasizing how the Plan B Forum has brought global attention to the city.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, also reiterated the importance of the initiative: “The increased use of cryptocurrencies in real life demonstrates what can happen when vision and action meet.”
A growing event
Since 2022, participation has grown by over 150%, transforming the Plan ₿ Forum into a continental reference point for those involved in decentralized finance, technology, and digital freedom. The 2025 edition promises to mark a new milestone in this journey, consolidating Lugano as the European capital of the Bitcoin debate.
