From a business venture founded in Gravesano to a strategic component of an international group operating in 16 countries. This is the journey undertaken by 4IT Solutions Sagl, a company founded in 2008 by Sladjana Timotijevic and Mishel Borcic, which officially announced the consolidation of its alliance with Var Group in Lugano, today taking the name Var Group Suisse SA.
The announcement came during the third edition of Connect, the annual event dedicated to the world of innovation and digital services, which brought together nearly 200 people including IT professionals, managers, companies, and technology partners. This step marks the completion of the process begun with the business combination announced last November and strengthens Ticino's role within the group's development strategy.
The transaction consolidates Var Group's presence in the Swiss market and expands the company's position as an end-to-end provider of IT, digital, and cybersecurity services. The integration is based on the desire to combine 4IT Solutions' knowledge of the local economic fabric with the international network, investment capabilities, and expertise centers developed by the multinational group.
"This new phase represents an evolution, not a discontinuity," said founders Sladjana Timotijevic and Mishel Borcic, emphasizing that the identity built over nearly twenty years of business will remain central to the new corporate structure. "Our values, customer proximity, and focus on quality remain unchanged. At the same time, being part of Var Group will allow us to support companies in an even more comprehensive and sustainable way."
Massimo Fumagalli, Regional Lead of Var Group Suisse, also highlighted the strategic importance of the integration. "With 4IT Solutions, we're welcoming a team that shares our culture and has in-depth knowledge of the Swiss market. The goal is to build a competence hub in Ticino capable of combining local expertise, innovation, and international technological capabilities."
The initiative is part of Var Group's broader growth strategy, which in recent years has intensified its presence in Switzerland by focusing on digitalization, cybersecurity, and business process transformation. The teams of the new Var Group Suisse will work alongside businesses and public administrations to support their digital innovation and infrastructure development.
Connect26 between technology, resilience and artificial intelligence
The 2026 edition of Connect saw a significant increase in attendance compared to last year, when there were approximately 130 guests. The event was hosted by RSI journalist Julie Arlin, a well-established presence on the Ticino corporate events scene.
Among the central moments of the afternoon, the speech of the former Olympic champion Yuri Chechi, who proposed a reflection on the theme of resilience and adaptation to change, drawing a parallel between a sporting career and the transformations affecting the business world.

The day concluded with a digital art performance by Lombard artist Antonio Barbieri in collaboration with Var Digital Art by Var Group. The work was developed based on the words and concepts shared by participants during the event, using datasets, 3D scans, and generative algorithms.

Var Group Suisse has been operating in the Canton of Ticino since 2013 through a dedicated subsidiary and has consolidated relationships with local businesses, institutions, and governments over the years. The company is the Swiss subsidiary of Var Group, a leading European player in digital services and IT solutions.
According to company data, as of April 30, 2025, the group had revenues of €875,7 million and over 4.290 employees across 16 countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
