It was assigned to the Dr. Alberto Siccardi the 2026 Award of the Centenary Foundation of the Banca della Svizzera Italiana, an award that over the years has promoted figures capable of influencing the dialogue between Switzerland and ItalyThe ceremony took place yesterday – Tuesday, March 31 – at the Hotel Splendide Royal, in the Panorama Hall, in the presence of representatives from the economic and institutional world.
The award was presented by the president of the Foundation, Eugenio Brianti, flanked by Franco Polloni, responsible for the Switzerland and Italy region of EFG International, and by the CEO George PradelliThe laudatio was entrusted to Donato Cortesi.
An entrepreneurial journey between innovation and territory
The award recognizes Siccardi's contribution to the economic and cultural development of the Canton of Ticino and, more generally, to the strengthening of relations between the two countries. Founder and president of Medacta International, a company founded in 1999 in Castel San Pietro, the entrepreneur has built a group active globally in the orthopedic medicine sector, with an approach oriented towards innovation and training.
According to the Foundation's motivations, its path represents an example of the integration of "Italian eclecticism" and "Swiss organization," elements that have allowed the company to consolidate its position on international markets while maintaining strong local roots.
The symbolic value of the prize
During the evening, Siccardi received the sculpture “Incontro”, a work by the designer Dodo Arslan, a symbol of the Foundation's mission: to foster dialogue and collaboration between different entities. The award is also accompanied by a cash prize, which the entrepreneur has decided to donate entirely to the Medacta for Life Foundation, active in social and health projects at local and international level.
Education and philanthropic commitment
Graduated in Pharmacy at the University of Turin and with an MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management, Siccardi combines his entrepreneurial activity with a constant commitment to philanthropy.
Through her foundation, she promotes initiatives related to childhood health, development, and support.
