The new edition of one of the most important technology events for the developer community is coming to Lugano. Friday, February 6, 2026, the Palazzo dei Congressi will host the 11th edition of Voxxed Days Ticino, international event, co-organized by the Institute for Information Systems and Networking (ISIN) of the SUPSI, from the Faculty of Computer Science of theDOORS and from Exteso. An initiative that, since its inception, has been a point of reference for those working in the software development world.

Born as a spin-off of the Devoxx conference, Voxxed Days is now held in numerous cities around the world and maintains a highly formative vocationThe Ticino edition confirms this approach, offering a day of in-depth discussions that brings together international speakers, ICT professionals, technology companies, and developers from Ticino, Switzerland, and Northern Italy.

The common thread of the 2026 edition will be represented by the AI agents, a theme that reflects a change that is now underway in the way we design, develop and maintain digital systems. Alongside theartificial intelligence, the program will address central issues such as software architecture, development methodologies, and strengthening security strategies, areas that are increasingly interconnected with the evolution of intelligent technologies.

To respond to the breadth of the proposed contents, theevent will grow Even on a logistical level: compared to the previous edition, the number of rooms will increase from four to five and the program will include two discussion panels dedicated to "Spec-Driven Development with AI" and "Practical Security Strategies", designed to offer a space for concrete discussion between experts and the public. The complete – and constantly updated – schedule of talks is available here.

The lineup of speakers confirms the international character of the event. Among the most anticipated speeches is the keynote by Kevlin Henney, an independent consultant and trainer, who will offer a reflection on the past, present, and future of programming languages, also in light of the impact of Large Language Models. The day will close with a Mario Fusco, with a talk dedicated to biases—individual and group—that influence the quality of software produced. The complete list of speakers is available here.

The program will be preceded by – Thursday, February 5, 2026 – from four professional workshops hosted at the USI-SUPSI East Campus in Lugano. These are events with limited access, designed to allow a deep immersion in Voxxed topics, encouraging direct comparison with industry experts and the practical application of knowledge.

Secondo Frederick Yankelevich, organizer of Voxxed Days Ticino since the first editions, the value of the event lies in the quality of content and speakersThe Ticino edition opens the international Voxxed Days calendar, along with the one at CERN in Geneva, held back-to-back. This result reflects the support of USI and SUPSI and the event's consolidated positioning.

A strategic look at the 2026 edition also comes from Tiziano Leidi, Program Committee Chair and Director of the ISIN at SUPSI. After a 2025 marked by the celebrations for Java's thirtieth anniversary, the new year is seen as the entry into a different paradigm, in which AI agents no longer represent merely development support, but actual entities capable of acting autonomously according to defined specifications. In this context, a focus on Spec-Driven Development takes on a central role, offering concrete tools to manage the complexity of modern systems and improve software quality and efficiency.

For SUPSI, co-organizing Voxxed Days Ticino is part of a broader technology transfer strategy. The event thus becomes a meeting point between academic research and the local market, strengthening dialogue with local companies and contributing to the growth of an innovation ecosystem.

This approach is also shared by the USI Faculty of Informatics. Dean Ernst Wit emphasizes the institution's dual commitment to training highly qualified professionals and cutting-edge research, with a particular focus on software engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence. Initiatives like Voxxed Days Ticino play a key role in creating synergies between academia, business, and the developer community.

The event enjoys the patronage of the City of Lugano and the support of numerous partners. All updated information, together with the complete program, are available on Official site.
