The human being has a great flaw: not being able to see what brings us together, indeed, he focuses on the differences. Very often the words "feminism" and "machismo" are seen as a provocation, one against the other, a woman who hates a man and vice versa.
I am a young woman, who tries to earn her space in a world that is certainly difficult, but where I am fortunate to be very privileged. For many this is not the case, very many women around the world are not paid as much as a male colleague, they are not treated or treated equally and not only in the workplace, but also in their homes and even by society. I believe it is essential that this mindset change, and not because I am a feminist, but because I am deeply convinced that gender equality is a problem that affects us all.
I would speak of "noism" because we forget the other too often. We women need men as much as they need us. It is not only the word "female" that sets stakes, but the stereotype of the word "male" imprisons many boys. What adjectives would you add to it? Strong, determined, authoritarian ... But no one can tell you who you are and how you must be. A man can be determined as much as he is insecure. Authoritarian, as much as it is free. Strong, as much as it is sensitive. A father who wants to raise his children is no less male. A mother who wants to go to work is no less female. Yet sometimes it just feels like that, because there are ideals that seem untouchable and tell us where we need to stay and how we are expected to do it.
The world is made up of rules but if we can't even be ourselves, then every bit of life is taken away. We try to run towards freedom, I try to do it by writing my thoughts to you and hoping to give some hope and courage to those who need or want a change.
